South Central High School Cultural Festival

5th grade classes were invited to attend South Central High School's Cultural Festival hosted by Mrs. Paula Elk's Innovations class.  5th graders learned about a variety of global cultures through food, dance, games, and music.  This event is intended to help students learn to appreciate the differences in others and build skills for being open to new friendships with a variety of people.

Maker Morning - Green Screen Story Writing

Families had the opportunity to attend our Maker Morning and use a variety of costumes, the Green Screen, and lots of writing materials to create their own original stories.

Bedtime Story Hour

PreK, Kindergarten, & 1st grade students attended Bedtime Story Hour at the media center.  They wore their pajamas, heard bedtime stories, and had a bedtime snack!  Ala Gore was also available to all grades for Usborne Book Fair Family Night.

Usborne Reach for the Stars & Book Fair

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Usborne Reach for the Stars read-a-thon and Book Fair!  Students schoolwide read over 150,000 minutes during a two week period and raised over $700 in pledges for themselves, their classrooms, and the media center as well as earned several hundred more dollars for new books during the book fair.  We appreciate Mrs. Ala Gore,  Creekside parent & Usborne Books representative, for coordinating these events!
