On Thursday, February 18, third, fourth, and fifth grade students competed in the school's fifth annual school spelling bee.  Participants in the bee were the winners and the runners-up of their classroom bees.  The bee lasted eighteen rounds, and the winning word was vague.  First place winner was Matthew Taylor, second place winner was Caleb Van Haelst, and third place winner was Emerson Fipps.  All three students are fifth graders.  Matthew will represent Creekside at the Annual Downeast Regional Spelling Bee in Washington, NC on March 5th.
