Robin Bliven's Deaf and Hard of hearing class at Creekside Elementary had a Thanksgiving celebration Fiesta! All of the students in the class are from Spanish speaking families and are hearing impaired. The class invited their families to join in for a tri-lingual celebration for them to learn the Spanish, English, and Sign language words for the foods that they eat in their homes during a celebration. We tried tacos, enchiladas, salsa, tortas, quesadillas, tamales, rice, beans, and empanadas! Mrs. Hannah Butler the ESL teacher facilitated the Spanish while Ms.Bliven focused on the English and Sign Language. We all had a great time, learned a lot, and ate great food!
